Beauiful Persian Pictorial Qashqai Rug.
It has been woven by the skillful weavers in central Iran who have been engaged in this trade for centuries. The Theme of the Rug is Story of Queen Noor-Jehan who was famous for her beauty, belonged to Iran but was married to King Jahangir the King of India. Weaver has tried to show the Famous Koh-e-Noor Diamond in the hand of the Queen which were taken away by Britishers and it is now fixed in the Crown of Queen Elizabeth of England. The Deers shown in the picture are part of the story when Queen went for Deer hunting but her arrow killed a person. The wife of that person came to the King Jahangir's Court for Judgement as king was famous for his judgement but he loved the Queen and did not want her to die so he said that since the queen has killed her husband so too should the husband of the Queen be hanged. The rug is nearly 40 years old yet in quite good condition. . The rug is definitely a great item for antique lovers.The actual size of the rug is 7ft.5 in by 5ft.5in. This is also known as a Persian Qashqai Bibi rug.
